Yes...I had a dream.. a dream in 1997 to one day own a scrapbook store. I never knew it would take off & fly still further.. to serving the industry in wholesale!

In 2002 I sold my retail store "Memories are Forever" in Mansfield, Brisbane Australia and moved into wholesale. It was a move that I have never looked back on.

Our success has been due to our impeccable customer experience and commitment to genuinely care about all of our retail stores. I found while in retail that there were many frustrations when dealing with various wholesalers throughout the industry.  The knowledge I learned during that time was extremely important in knowing how NOT to treat a customer.

Along with this and owning businesses now for over 14 years has lead to our very prominent place in the scrapbook industry. Knowledge of being a director of a company does not simply arrive overnight. We are where we are today due to alot of past experiences and very hard work.

 

In 2004 it nearly all collapsed after a personal tragedy with the death of my husband of 45 due to cancer. However many of my friends encouraged me to keep going and with the help of the Lord I was able to pick myself up and continue to where I am today.

I found that many times we want to have the reasons explained as to why things happen but I have always found that no matter what comes your way, with faith, love and an attitude that says "all things work together for good for them that love God" you can find the ability to go on.

DownUnder Direct's motto is "Customers for Life" and many of those customers who stood along side me have now become my "friends for life".
